The company is a scam, call themselves Independent engineers?? They fix the result to suit the finance company! Disgusting, I will be reporting them to trading standards and I will inform everybody I know that they are crooks! Stay away!!! They are used by Autoguard Warranties, be aware when making your claim!

Absolutely scam! Engineer seen check engine light during inspection. Then I can read on report - "Vehicle was started with no permanent warning lights displayed on the drivers panel."

SCAM..!!!! Keep clear from this compony. I bought a car and drove it 180 miles on the way home and broke down on me by stretching the timing chain and after a local garage checked the car over found loads of faults with the car. So the finance compony asked for scotia to check the car and the inspection tried saying that the engine work was done but the rear axle bushes, dual mass flywheel, brakes, oil leak from sump, exhaust has a crack in it which blows and the list goes on but all this happened after I bought the car apparently. But didnt pick up that the REAR DIFF had gone. Someone tell me how that would happen in a 180 mile drive on the way home on a motorway. After waiting 5 weeks to get the engine fixed the car stayed at the garage for an inspection then "engineer" said after a test drive (which he did'nt drive) said the car was fit for purpose but now having over 3000+ bill to put this car right and still pay 14,000 for the car which I'm stuck with and this report has left me without a leg to stand on. These problems where like this before i bought the car. After waiting 6 and half hours for him to arrive as he was late but then said he couldnt speak to me but left within 15 mins and could see he couldn't be bothered. So if you get an engineer called Phil Bailey send him away because he hasnt got a clue what he's on about with thinking he knows what he's doing by taking photos of the car and to be honest his appearance and attatude was disscusting. Your in your right to ask for a compony nither you or the finance compony use as scotia haven't got a clue what they are doing and are on the finance compony's side. Funny how there is so many reviews saying the same about scotia and they shouldn't be in business. Scammers through and through. If I had people working for me like this and putting my compony to shame they would find them selves down the job centre. Wish I checked reviews before letting this compony do and so called inspections

Absolutely appalled by this company, clearly have taken the side of the finance company even with all the evidence to clearly support my claim in from of them. The employee that came out looked over my vehicle saw all the evidence & then wrote an embarrassing report contradicting himself from start to finish stating that he "found faults with the vehicle", then finishing with that he "found no faults with the vehicle". It was stated in the report by the employee that the brakes on my vehicle were corroded and not fit for purpose, but then deemed fit for purpose and would have passed an MOT. No measurements or even a test drive was taken or conducted, I personally found this quite concerning as to how he managed to come to the conclusion that they were not fit for purpose, but then fit for purpose without any form of testing other than a quick glance. Would highly recommend never using this company & if suggested through insurance or a finance company, i would recommend requesting a proper company like RAC or the AA to conduct a proper non basis check of your vehicle.

Sent in by finance company to inspect vehicle, having read previous reviews i was prepared for the report to be biased. The report was thorough and very fair. The guy was easy to deal with and spent time looking over the car, even highlighting problems that i was not aware of. I was certainly proved wrong!
